Gameplay

Colmeia Viva is a cooperative tile-laying game where players work together to build a vibrant beehive while facing environmental challenges. Each player takes on the role of a beekeeper, responsible for placing tiles representing honeycomb cells, bees, and resources. The goal is to create a thriving beehive by fulfilling objectives, such as completing honeycombs, collecting pollen, and raising new bees.

Tiles and Components

The game consists of 110 hexagonal tiles, each depicting different elements of a beehive. These include honeycomb cells in various colors, bees, pollen, honey, royal jelly, and environmental hazards like pesticides and storms. Additionally, players have access to a variety of special tiles that provide unique abilities.

Hive Construction

Players take turns placing tiles on the game board, gradually building the beehive. Each tile must be connected to at least one other tile, and honeycomb cells must be adjacent to at least one bee. By placing tiles strategically, players can create continuous honeycombs, collect pollen and honey, and protect their bees from hazards.

Environmental Challenges

As the beehive grows, players face various environmental challenges. Pesticides can harm bees, storms can damage honeycombs, and honey thieves can steal honey. To overcome these challenges, players must work together to protect their hive by using special tiles or mitigating the effects of hazards.

Cooperative Play

Colmeia Viva emphasizes cooperative play. Players must communicate and coordinate their actions to achieve the common goal. They can discuss their strategies, share resources, and support each other to build a thriving beehive.

Scoring and Victory

The game ends when all tiles have been placed or the beehive is destroyed. Players score points based on the objectives they have fulfilled, such as completing honeycombs, collecting pollen, and raising new bees. The team's combined score determines their victory.
