Classic Solitaire, also known as Klondike, is a single-player card game that has captivated players for centuries. Its enduring popularity stems from its simple yet challenging gameplay, providing a delightful balance of strategy and luck.

Objective

The goal of Classic Solitaire is to sort all 52 cards into four piles, known as foundations, arranged in ascending order from Ace to King, with each foundation representing a different suit.

Gameplay

The game begins with 28 cards dealt face down into seven piles, known as the tableau. The top card of each tableau pile is flipped face up. The remaining 24 cards form the stock, which is placed face down in the top left corner.

Players can move cards between the tableau piles and the foundation piles, following specific rules:

* Cards can only be moved to the foundations if they are the same suit and one rank higher than the current top card.

* Cards can only be moved from the tableau to other tableau piles if they are one rank lower and of the opposite color (red or black).

* Empty tableau piles can be filled with a King or a sequence of cards starting with a King.

Stock and Waste Piles

When players run out of moves in the tableau, they can draw three cards from the stock. If the stock runs out, they can turn the waste pile (the cards drawn from the stock) face down and use it as a new stock.

Winning

The game is won when all 52 cards have been moved to the foundation piles. If players cannot make any more moves, the game ends in a loss.

Variations

Classic Solitaire has numerous variations, including:

* Spider Solitaire: Uses two decks of cards and has more complex rules.

* FreeCell Solitaire: Allows players to move cards to four free cells, providing more strategic options.

* Pyramid Solitaire: Forms a pyramid of cards and requires players to pair cards that add up to 13.

Tips for Success

* Prioritize moving Aces and low-value cards to the foundations.

* Expose hidden cards in the tableau by moving top cards to other piles.

* Use the stock and waste piles strategically to find the cards you need.

* Be patient and don't give up easily.
