Solitaire uses a standard 52 card deck of playing cards without jokers. The objective of the game is to expose all cards and move them into the foundation piles. There are 4 foundation piles (one for each suit) that are represented on the screen by an “A“ written on it. These piles are built upward in suit from Aces to Kings.
In Solitaire there are 7 tableau columns that are built downward (in decreasing rank from Kings to Aces) in alternating colours (red and black). The aim of the game is to clear all the rows into the suitable foundation piles.

Classic Solitaire, also known as Klondike Solitaire, is a single-player card game that has captivated players for centuries. Its enduring popularity stems from its engaging gameplay, which requires a balance of strategy, patience, and a touch of luck.
Game Setup
The game begins with a standard deck of 52 playing cards. Seven piles of cards are dealt face down in a tableau, with the first pile having one card, the second having two, and so on up to seven cards in the seventh pile. The remaining 24 cards form the stock pile.
Gameplay
The goal of Classic Solitaire is to build four foundation piles, one for each suit (hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades), in ascending order from Ace to King. To achieve this, players must move cards between the tableau piles and the foundation piles.
Tableau Piles
The tableau piles are the main playing area. Players can flip over the top card of any pile to reveal its face. Only the top card of each pile is available for play. Cards in the tableau can be moved to other tableau piles or to the foundation piles.
Foundation Piles
The foundation piles are located at the top of the screen. Players can build these piles by moving Aces from the tableau or stock pile to the corresponding foundation pile. Once an Ace is placed, players can add cards of the same suit in ascending order.
Stock Pile
The stock pile contains the remaining cards that have not yet been dealt. Players can draw three cards from the stock pile at a time. If the stock pile runs out, players can reshuffle the cards from the tableau piles and start drawing again.
Rules
* Tableau: Cards can only be moved to a tableau pile if they are one rank lower and of the opposite color. For example, a red 7 can be placed on a black 8.
* Foundation: Cards can only be moved to a foundation pile if they are of the same suit and one rank higher than the last card played.
* Stock Pile: Players can draw three cards from the stock pile at a time. If they do not want any of the cards, they can discard them and draw again.
Strategy
Winning Classic Solitaire requires a combination of strategy and luck. Some tips for improving your chances include:
* Expose hidden cards: Flip over the top cards of the tableau piles to reveal potential moves.
* Plan ahead: Consider the long-term implications of your moves.
* Build the foundation: Start building the foundation piles as early as possible to create more options.
* Use the stock pile wisely: Draw cards from the stock pile only when necessary.
* Be patient: Classic Solitaire is a game of patience. Don't get discouraged if you don't win right away.
Variations
Over the years, numerous variations of Classic Solitaire have emerged. Some popular variations include:
* Spider Solitaire: Uses two decks of cards and features eight tableau piles instead of seven.
* FreeCell Solitaire: Allows players to move cards to empty spaces on the tableau, making it more challenging.
* Pyramid Solitaire: Builds a pyramid of cards that must be removed by pairing cards that add up to 13.
Conclusion
Classic Solitaire remains a beloved card game that offers a unique blend of strategy, luck, and entertainment. Its timeless appeal has ensured its place as a classic game that continues to be enjoyed by players of all ages.
