Ginko: A Strategic Card Game of Memory and Deduction

Overview:

Ginko is a two-player card game that combines memory, deduction, and strategic thinking. The objective of the game is to collect sets of three cards with matching symbols and score points by correctly guessing the hidden symbols on other players' cards.

Setup:

The game is played with a deck of 60 cards, each featuring six different symbols (flowers, mushrooms, butterflies, leaves, trees, and ladybugs). Players start with a hand of six cards and place a deck of 12 cards face down in the center of the table.

Gameplay:

On their turn, a player has three options:

1. Play a card: The player plays a card from their hand face up on the table, adjacent to one of the four piles of played cards. If the played card matches the symbol on the top card of any pile, the player scores a point and takes all the cards in that pile into their hand.

2. Draw a card: The player draws the top card from the face-down deck. If they can play the drawn card immediately, they do so and score any matching symbols.

3. Peek at a card: The player peeks at the top card of any one of the four piles of played cards. This allows them to gain information about the hidden symbols on other players' cards.

Guessing:

After playing a card, the player may guess the hidden symbol on any one of their opponent's cards. If the guess is correct, the player scores a point and takes the guessed card into their hand. If the guess is incorrect, the opponent scores a point.

Special Cards:

The deck contains two special cards:

* Blank card: This card has no symbols and can be played on any pile. It allows the player to peek at the top card of that pile without revealing it to the opponent.

* Switch card: This card allows the player to switch the top cards of any two piles.

Scoring:

The game ends when one player has collected 10 points. Players score points by matching symbols, guessing correctly, and holding special cards.

Strategy:

Ginko requires a combination of memory, deduction, and strategic thinking. Players must pay attention to the cards played and discarded to infer the hidden symbols on their opponent's cards. They must also carefully consider the placement of their cards to maximize their chances of scoring and minimize the risk of being guessed correctly.
