Introduction

Klondike Solitaire, also known as Patience, is a classic single-player card game that has captivated players for centuries. Its simple rules and addictive gameplay have made it a timeless favorite, enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels.

Objective

The objective of Klondike Solitaire is to build four foundation piles, one for each suit (clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades), in ascending order from Ace to King.

Setup

The game is played with a standard deck of 52 cards. Seven tableau piles are created, each with a different number of cards: one card in the first pile, two in the second, and so on up to seven cards in the seventh pile. The remaining 24 cards are placed in a stock pile.

Gameplay

The game begins by turning over the top card of the stock pile. This card is placed face up in the waste pile. The player can then move cards from the tableau piles to the waste pile or to the foundation piles.

* Tableau Piles: Cards can be moved from one tableau pile to another if the card being moved is one rank lower and the opposite color of the card it is being placed on. For example, a red 5 can be placed on a black 6.

* Waste Pile: The player can click on the waste pile to turn over the next card. The top card of the waste pile can be moved to the tableau piles or to the foundation piles.

* Foundation Piles: Cards can be moved from the tableau piles or the waste pile to the foundation piles. The first card placed on a foundation pile must be an Ace, and subsequent cards must be in ascending order and the same suit.

Winning

The game is won when all four foundation piles are complete. If the player cannot make any more moves, they can reshuffle the waste pile once and continue playing.

Variations

There are many variations of Klondike Solitaire, including:

* One-Deck Klondike: The game is played with a single deck of cards.

* Two-Deck Klondike: The game is played with two decks of cards.

* Spider Solitaire: The game is played with two decks of cards and has different rules for building the foundation piles.

* FreeCell Solitaire: The game is played with a single deck of cards and has additional "free cells" that can be used to store cards.

Strategy
