Based on the same rules as the hit KenKen(tm) game, as printed in the New York Times and The Times (uk).
Related to Sudoko, but with a mathematical twist - use the arithmetic challenges in each cage to help solve the puzzle.

MathDoku is a challenging logic puzzle that combines elements of Sudoku and mathematics. It presents a grid of squares, each containing a number or a mathematical operation (+, -, ×, ÷). The goal is to fill in the empty squares with numbers that satisfy the mathematical operations and follow the grid's logic.
Rules of MathDoku:
* Fill in the grid: Place numbers from 1 to the grid size (e.g., 1-6 for a 6x6 grid) in the empty squares.
* Follow mathematical operations: Each square containing an operation (+, -, ×, ÷) must use the given number and the numbers in the adjacent squares to produce the result shown in the square.
* Unique numbers: Each number from 1 to the grid size can appear only once in each row, column, and 3x3 block.
* Consecutive numbers: In some variations, consecutive numbers cannot appear next to each other horizontally or vertically.
Solving MathDoku:
Solving MathDoku requires a combination of logical reasoning and mathematical skills.
1. Scan the grid: Start by identifying squares with given numbers or operations. Look for obvious deductions, such as squares that can only contain certain numbers.
2. Apply mathematical operations: Use the given operations to calculate the missing numbers. Consider the surrounding squares and the rules of the game.
3. Eliminate possibilities: Rule out numbers that cannot fit based on the operations and the uniqueness rule.
4. Make educated guesses: If necessary, make educated guesses and see if they lead to contradictions. If they do, revise your guesses.
5. Use trial and error: Sometimes, it may be necessary to try different numbers in a square until you find a solution that satisfies all the rules.
Tips for Solving MathDoku:
* Start with the easiest squares: Focus on squares with simple operations or given numbers.
* Use logical reasoning: Consider the relationships between squares and how they affect the possible numbers.
* Be patient and persistent: Solving MathDoku can take time and effort. Don't give up easily.
* Practice regularly: The more you play MathDoku, the better you will become at recognizing patterns and solving puzzles efficiently.
