Introduction

Spider Solitaire is a popular single-player card game played with two decks of standard playing cards. The objective of the game is to arrange all the cards in eight descending sequences, one for each suit, from King to Ace.

Gameplay

The game begins with 54 cards dealt into 10 tableau piles. Six of the piles contain five cards each, while the remaining four piles contain four cards each. The remaining 50 cards form the stock pile.

Tableau

The tableau is the main playing area, where the cards are arranged in piles. Players can move cards within the tableau, building descending sequences in suit. Aces can be moved to empty piles.

Stock

The stock pile contains the remaining cards that have not been dealt. Players can draw cards from the stock pile one at a time.

Foundation

The foundation is the area where players build the eight descending sequences. Kings are placed on empty foundation piles, and subsequent cards are added in descending order and in suit.

Spider

A "spider" is a situation where a card cannot be moved or placed anywhere. If all the piles become spiders, the game is over.

Winning

The game is won when all 54 cards have been arranged in eight descending sequences on the foundation.

Variations

There are several variations of Spider Solitaire, including:
