PERSIS Solo, formerly known as Arseto Solo, is a professional football club based in Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia. The club plays in Liga 1, the top tier of Indonesian football.

History

PERSIS Solo was founded on November 8, 1923, as Voetbalbond Solosche Indonesische Voetballers (SIVB). The club was renamed Arseto Solo in 1950 and adopted its current name in 1998.

PERSIS Solo has won the Indonesian Premier League twice, in 1998 and 2004. The club has also won the Indonesian Cup twice, in 1998 and 2008.

Home Stadium

PERSIS Solo plays its home matches at the Manahan Stadium in Surakarta. The stadium has a capacity of 20,000.
