The SCL Tigers, originally known as Schlittschuh Club Langnau, was founded in 1946 in the picturesque town of Langnau im Emmental, Switzerland. The club's humble beginnings can be traced back to a group of passionate hockey enthusiasts who sought to establish a competitive ice hockey team in their hometown.

During the early years, the SCL Tigers played in the lower Swiss leagues, gradually gaining recognition for their spirited performances and loyal fan base. In 1962, the club achieved a significant milestone by securing promotion to the National League B, the second tier of Swiss ice hockey.

Rise to Prominence:

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the SCL Tigers established themselves as a formidable force in the National League B, consistently challenging for promotion to the top flight. Their unwavering determination and relentless pursuit of excellence culminated in a historic triumph in 1989 when they clinched the National League B championship and secured promotion to the National League A, the pinnacle of Swiss ice hockey.
