Performance Enhancements and Improvements

Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos are a professional American football team based in Denver, Colorado. They compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) West division. The Broncos have won eight AFC Championships and three Super Bowls (XXI, XXXII, and 50).

Franchise History

The Broncos were founded in 1960 as part of the American Football League (AFL). They joined the NFL in 1970 as part of the AFL-NFL merger. The team's early years were marked by struggles, but they began to turn things around in the late 1970s under the leadership of quarterback Craig Morton.

In 1983, the Broncos drafted quarterback John Elway, who would become the face of the franchise for the next 16 seasons. Elway led the Broncos to their first Super Bowl victory in 1998, and they won two more Super Bowls in 1999 and 2015.

Recent Years

Since Elway retired in 1999, the Broncos have struggled to find consistent success. They have made the playoffs only six times in the past 20 seasons, and they have not won a playoff game since 2015.

In 2022, the Broncos hired former Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur as their new head coach. LaFleur is tasked with turning around the struggling franchise and bringing the Broncos back to contention.

Home Stadium

The Broncos play their home games at Empower Field at Mile High, which is located in Denver, Colorado. The stadium opened in 2001 and has a capacity of 76,125.

Rivalries

The Broncos have several long-standing rivalries, including:

* Kansas City Chiefs: The Broncos and Chiefs are division rivals and have played each other twice a year since 1960.

* Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders: The Broncos and Raiders are also division rivals and have played each other twice a year since 1960.

* New England Patriots: The Broncos and Patriots have met in the AFC Championship Game five times, including three times in the 2000s.

Notable Players

Some of the most notable players in Broncos history include:

* John Elway

* Terrell Davis

* Shannon Sharpe

* Von Miller

* Champ Bailey

* Peyton Manning
