The Philadelphia 76ers are an American professional basketball team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division. The 76ers are one of the oldest and most successful teams in the NBA, having won three NBA championships (1955, 1967, and 1983) and nine Eastern Conference championships.

The 76ers were founded in 1946 as the Syracuse Nationals. The team moved to Philadelphia in 1963 and adopted its current name. The 76ers have played their home games at the Wells Fargo Center since 1996.
