Shajgoj is played on an 8x8 checkered board with 16 pieces per player. Each player's pieces consist of four soldiers, four guards, four elephants, and four caliphs. The objective of the game is to capture all of the opponent's pieces or force them into a position where they cannot make any legal moves.

Piece Movement

Each type of piece has its own unique rules for movement:

* Soldiers: Move one square forward or backward, capturing diagonally forward.

* Guards: Move one square diagonally, capturing forward or backward.

* Elephants: Move two squares diagonally, capturing forward or backward, but must jump over an intervening piece.

* Caliphs: Move like kings in chess, one square in any direction, capturing along the way.

Special Rules

* Elephant Leap: Elephants can leap over other pieces, including their own.
