Buraco Fechado STBL (or simply Buraco) is a popular Brazilian trick-taking card game for 2-4 players, played with a standard deck of 54 cards (including 2 jokers). The objective of the game is to be the first player or team to score 1000 points by capturing cards and forming melds.

Gameplay:

The game is played in a series of rounds. Each round, one player deals 11 cards to each player. The remaining cards form the stock pile.

Players take turns playing cards in a clockwise direction. On their turn, a player can:

* Draw a card: Take the top card from either the stock pile or the discard pile.

* Play a card: Play a card from their hand that matches the suit or rank of the card on top of the discard pile.

* Capture: If a player has a meld (a set of three or more cards of the same rank or a sequence of four or more cards of the same suit), they can capture the cards on the discard pile by placing their meld on top.

* Discard: If a player cannot play or capture any cards, they must discard one card from their hand to the discard pile.

Melds:

There are two types of melds in Buraco:

* Canastra: A set of seven or more cards of the same rank.

* Sequência: A sequence of four or more cards of the same suit.

Scoring:

* Canastra: 100 points

* Sequência: 20 points

* Closed Canastra: A canastra that is formed before any cards are discarded (50 points bonus)

* Dirty Canastra: A canastra that contains a joker (100 points bonus)

* Capture: 10 points per card captured

Winning:

The first player or team to reach 1000 points wins the game. If a player or team goes negative, they are "burned" and lose 100 points.

Variations:

There are several variations of Buraco, including:

* Buraco Aberto: Players can see their opponents' melds.

* Buraco Cantado: Players can announce their melds.

* Buraco de Dois: Played with only two players.

* Buraco STBL: A variation with additional rules and penalties.
