EMK_Vaihingen Enz is a train station located in Vaihingen an der Enz, Germany. It is a station on the Württemberg Railway, which runs from Stuttgart to Würzburg. The station is served by regional trains operated by Deutsche Bahn.

History

The station was opened in 1846 as part of the Württemberg Railway. The station building was designed by Heinrich Hübsch, who also designed the Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof. The station was originally a terminus station, but it was extended in 1853 to become a through station.

Layout

The station has four platforms and eight tracks. The platforms are connected by a pedestrian tunnel. The station building is located on the east side of the tracks.

Services

The station is served by regional trains operated by Deutsche Bahn. The trains run to Stuttgart, Würzburg, Karlsruhe, and Heilbronn. The station is also served by buses operated by the Vaihingen an der Enz Stadtwerke.

Future

The station is planned to be upgraded as part of the Stuttgart 21 project. The upgrade will include the construction of a new station building and the addition of two new platforms.
