How to Play Phase Xtra Rummy

1. Draw a card from either the draw pile or the discard pile

2. Lay down completed current phase (if possible). A player must have the whole Phase in hand before laying it down

3. Hit on other players phases once player has laid down his own phase

4. Place one card on the discard pile.

Objective:

The goal of Phase Xtra Rummy is to be the first player to meld all of their cards into valid sets and runs, while also accumulating the lowest score.

Setup:

* Use a standard deck of 104 cards (two standard decks plus four jokers).

* Deal 10 cards to each player for a 2-4 player game, or 7 cards for a 5-8 player game.

* Place the remaining cards face down to form the stock pile.

* Turn the top card of the stock pile face up to start the discard pile.

Gameplay:

The game proceeds in turns, with players taking the following actions:

* Draw a card: Draw the top card from either the stock pile or the discard pile.

* Meld cards: Meld valid sets or runs from your hand onto the table. Sets consist of three or four cards of the same rank, while runs consist of three or more cards in sequence.

* Lay off cards: Add cards to existing melds on the table that you have not created.

* Discard a card: Discard one card face up on the discard pile.

Special Cards:

* Jokers: Jokers can be used as wild cards to complete any set or run.

* Phase cards: Phase cards are special cards that allow players to change the rules of the game temporarily. There are four types of phase cards:

* Skip: Skips the next player's turn.

* Reverse: Reverses the direction of play.

* Draw Two: Forces the next player to draw two cards.

* Wild Draw Four: Forces the next player to draw four cards and change the color.

Phases:

The game is divided into three phases:

* Phase 1: Players must meld all of their cards into sets or runs.

* Phase 2: Players must meld all of their cards and also accumulate the lowest score.

* Phase 3: Players continue to meld cards and accumulate points until one player has melded all of their cards.

Scoring:

At the end of each phase, players receive points for any unmelded cards in their hand. The points are calculated as follows:

* Number cards: Face value

* Face cards (Jack, Queen, King): 10 points

* Aces: 15 points

* Jokers: 50 points

Winning:

The game ends when one player has melded all of their cards. The player with the lowest total score at the end of all three phases wins the game.
