Spades is a trick-taking card game where players bid on the number of tricks they believe they can take, with the goal of achieving their bid and accumulating the most points.

* Number of Players: 4, in partnerships of two.

* Deck: A standard 52-card deck.

* Bidding: Each player bids on the number of tricks they think their partnership can take, from 0 to 13. The bids are tallied and added to the "bag."

* Trump Suit: The spade suit is always trump.

* Trick-Taking: Players take turns playing cards. The player who played the highest card of the suit led wins the trick. If a spade is played, it always wins.

* Nil Bidding: A player can bid "nil" if they believe they will not take any tricks. If successful, they earn 100 points.
