The 'special' features in this version of Spider Solitaire are: the option to play using one, two, three, or even four suits of cards, as well as store the stats and achievements you earn during your games.
Other advantages of Spider Solitaire include automatic game-saving, which allows you to leave the game at any time, as well as the option to set the game for right-handed or left-handed players.
There's nothing about Spider Solitaire's gameplay that most players don’t already know: It's simple and addictive, and that's precisely the secret to its success. It can keep a single player entertained for a very long time, until you either win or give it up for impossible.
Spider Solitaire is a nice version of the lifelong classic, now adapted for touchscreen controls.
Spider Solitaire: A Classic Card GameSpider Solitaire is a single-player card game that has captivated players for decades. It combines strategy, patience, and a touch of luck, making it an enjoyable and challenging experience.
Objective
The objective of Spider Solitaire is to arrange all 52 cards into eight ordered stacks, each suit from King to Ace.
Setup
The game is played with two standard decks of 52 cards, shuffled together. The cards are dealt into ten piles, with the first four piles receiving six cards each and the remaining six piles receiving five cards each. The top card of each pile is face up, while the rest remain face down.
Gameplay
The player moves cards by dragging them onto other piles. A card can be moved if it is one rank lower and the same suit as the top card on the target pile. For example, a 7 of hearts can be placed on an 8 of hearts.
Kings and Aces
Kings are unique in that they can be placed on an empty pile. Aces, on the other hand, cannot be moved until they are at the bottom of a pile.
Suits
The suits in Spider Solitaire are important. Only cards of the same suit can be placed on top of each other. This means that the player must carefully plan their moves to ensure that they can eventually form complete suit sequences.
Building Stacks
As the player moves cards, they will begin to build stacks of ordered suits. Once a stack is complete from King to Ace, it is automatically removed from the game. The goal is to remove all eight stacks to win.
Undo and Redo
Spider Solitaire often requires strategic backtracking. The game allows players to undo their last move or redo a move that they have undone. This can be helpful in exploring different possibilities and avoiding dead ends.
Variations
There are several variations of Spider Solitaire, each with its own set of rules and challenges. Some popular variations include:
* Easy Spider: Only one suit is used, making the game more beginner-friendly.
* Medium Spider: Two suits are used, providing a greater challenge.
* Hard Spider: Four suits are used, making the game highly difficult.
* Suit Spider: Each pile must be built with a different suit, adding an extra layer of complexity.
Strategy
Winning Spider Solitaire requires a combination of strategy and luck. Some key tips include:
* Expose hidden cards as soon as possible.
* Build suit sequences on the foundations (the piles where the stacks are built).
* Move Kings to empty piles to create new foundations.
* Use the undo and redo functions wisely.
* Be patient and don't give up easily.
