The objective is to be the first to reach a certain number of points. Truco Venezolano is played with a deck of 40 Spanish cards (without eights, nines, or jokers). It's a multiplayer game for 2 or 4 players in teams of 2.
For each round, each player gets three cards dealt. The turned-over card is called "Vira". The player that throws the highest card wins the hand, and the best of three hands wins the round. Their score depends on the points given by the plays they agreed on.
Value of the cards and their names (from lowest to highest value):
• Common: 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 1, 2, 3.
• “Matas”: 7 of gold, 7 of swords, 1 of clubs, 1 of sword.
• Pieces (“piezas”) or cards of the suit (“pinta”) of the "vira": 10 of the suit of the "vira" (“Perica”), 11 of the suit of the "vira" (“Perico”).
• Values of the cards for the "flor" or "envido": 11 of the "vira" is worth 30 points. 10 of the "vira" is worth 29 points. The rest of the cards are worth what their number indicates, except 10, 11, and 12, which are worth 0. If the "vira" is a "pieza" (10 or 11), the 12 of that suit takes the value of the "pieza" that is found on the "vira".
This game has many other rules, but that's what makes it challenging and fun to play!

Truco Venezolano, a popular trick-taking card game from Venezuela, is a variation of the classic Truco game played in Argentina and Uruguay. It involves strategic bidding, bluffing, and skillful gameplay, making it an exciting and engaging game for players of all skill levels.
Gameplay
Truco Venezolano is played with a standard Spanish deck of 40 cards. The game involves two teams of two players each, who sit across from each other. The objective is to be the first team to reach 30 points by winning tricks and bidding accurately.
The game begins with the dealer distributing three cards to each player, face down. The remaining cards form the draw pile. The player to the left of the dealer starts the game by playing any card from their hand. The other players must follow suit if possible. If they cannot, they can play any card, including a trump card.
Bidding
After the first card is played, players can start bidding. The minimum bid is 1, and the maximum bid is 10. Players can bid on the number of tricks they believe their team will take. The bidding continues clockwise until one player or team passes. The team with the highest bid wins the right to call trump.
Trump
The player who won the bidding chooses the trump suit. Trump cards are the highest-ranking cards in the game and beat all other cards, regardless of suit.
Taking Tricks
After the trump suit is chosen, the players take turns playing cards. The highest card of the suit led wins the trick, unless a trump card is played. In this case, the highest trump card wins. The team that wins the trick takes the cards and adds one point to their score.
Bluffing
Bluffing is an important part of Truco Venezolano. Players can bid aggressively even if they do not have a strong hand to try to deceive their opponents. However, if they are caught bluffing, they lose two points.
Special Bids
In addition to regular bidding, there are two special bids in Truco Venezolano:
* Truco: This bid doubles the stakes of the current round.
* ReTruco: This bid quadruples the stakes of the current round.
If a player or team accepts a special bid, they must win the number of tricks they bid or they lose the corresponding number of points.
Winning
The first team to reach 30 points wins the game. If both teams reach 30 points in the same round, the team with the highest score wins.
